Sports games are usually participated mostly by individuals who are seek physical interaction and competition among other players. It requires tools and a playing field that leads to the involvement of a community much larger than a group of players. Popular sport games have spectators or an audience which are entertained by watching them. They are also held in a stadium where large crowds are gathered. Sports spectators or sports fans usually side on either of the two opposing teams which make up the rivalry. Popular sports games include football, basketball and baseball.
Board games are characterized by the use of a board on which players make use of tokens to track their status, resources and progress. Some require cards or dice. A board is usually used as a map where the tokens of the players move. Almost all board games are turn biased play, wherein a player contemplates and make a move, and then the next one does the same, resulting on exchanging of turns. Players can only act during their turn. Examples of board games are trivial pursuit, millionaires game and chess.
Video games require computers that define the mode of play. More advanced softwares are used nowadays on making video games. Some of the games feature animated compositions and intense three dimensional graphics that are controlled by a joystick or keyboard. Primitive video games are pacman and space invaders which make use of low graphics. Modern games now include 3D animations that are so advanced that they make true to life representations of characters and objects involved in the video game. Such examples are role playing games like the Final Fantasy series and Warcraft.
