President of Asian Billiards Association, Mr. Sindu Pulsirivong: “We will do everything to help you”
Our discussion with Mr. Sindhu Pulsirivong was very encouraging.

- How do you evaluate the billiards at this Games?

• Despite the economic difficulties being experienced by many, there are still 26 countries with over 200 players registered for the billiards competition. This shows that this sport is very now very popular in Asia. I feel very proud to say that Asia has championship players in carom, pool and snooker. This result makes it clear that Asian players are capable of being the best in the world.

- How about the organising process?

•We cooperated with Vietnam very well together in order to achieve this success. This is the result of a hardworking team and sometimes we and some members of the Vietnam Organising Committee working until 2am or 3am. When I came back from Vietnam after my pevious visit for the SEA Games 2003, I already thought that Vietnam will develop very fast in the sports field. One of the reasons which made me have that thought was the number of spectators at events. Many people came to watch the matches and sport has to have fans. You can see that many spectators came to the stadium this afternoon and that is wonderful. Vietnam has won a gold medal but Thailand does not have any gold medal at billiards yet (smilling).

- As the President of Asian Billiards Association, what will you do to help Vietnam billiards ?

• Anything that Vietnam needs, we will try our best to help. In Thailand, we have a very good training centre and we are very pleased to invite Vienamese players to come and train at out centre. In the future, we will open an advanced training course for coaches and referees and we will invite Vietnam to participate.
